Disabling Windows 10 Updates

We are in the habit of disabling the windows update service on our club laptop, to prevent windows 10 applying them at an inconvenient time such as the start of a bridge session. If we wish to check for, or apply, windows updates we can then re-enable the service at a convenient time. Since a recent windows 10 update it appears that windows 10 now automatically re-enables the windows updates service if it discovers that it has been manually disabled. However, I discovered the following article which describes a procedure for defeating this "feature". Haven't tried it out yet, but am posting it here in case it is of use to others:
