The important thing is to ensure that the "name source" settings are correctly set up in JSScorer and BridgePal. In JSScorer this setting can be found in the BCS Settings. Click on "Set BCS Options" on the scoring screen, then on the Bridgemate II tab, and it's in a dropdown box on the left hand side of the display. Settings are:
1. Player Names Table
2. EBU Names Table
3. Player & EBU Names Table
Option 1 uses relatively short player ids (up to 4 digits) and is suitable for most clubs. Option 2 uses an external database "BMPlayerDB.mdb" and would generally be used for larger events, e.g. county or national. If using this database the player ids used are the national id numbers (e.g. EBU number). Option 3 uses both - player ids are looked up first in the player names table, then if not found they are looked up in BMPlayerDB.mdb.
Whichever option is selected, the player database in JSSScorer needs to be populated. If you are using the EBU Names table you will have to download the national database from within JSSScorer and ensure that it is configured to be in the correct location for BridgePal to access it (C:/BridgePal/xdb/BMPlayerDB.mdb). This is briefly described in sections 1 and 2 of the JSSScore Guide on the BridgePal website.
The "name source" setting should propagate through from JSSorer to BridgePal Server when you start wireless scoring for an event. You can check that it has done so from the Settings screen in BridgePal Server. Click on the icon that looks like two cogwheels on the windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then click on Settings.
