Please Note:
Due to the overhead involved in maintaining multiple versions of Bridge Solver, the windows version is not being actively maintained at present, and is unlikely to be updated in the future.
If you encounter difficulty installing this version, or find that it cannot access websites of interest, then it is better to use the Bridge Solver chrome extension, available from the chrome web store, with the Chrome or Edge browser. The Bridge Solver chrome extension can do almost everything that Bridge Solver for Windows can do, except read boards from PDF files.
Bridge Solver for Windows has a similar feature set to the android app in that, as well as being able to load hands from files, it can browse and bookmark websites, and acquire hands directly from hand diagrams on web pages hosted on ACBL (several diagram formats, including ACBLmerge, ACBL Live), BridgeWebs, Pianola, Bridge Base Online (movie links), EBU Sims, ECatsBridge Sims, Vugraph.com, www.bridge-club.org, and altosoft.com.au.
Bridge Solver for Windows can also extract hands from various types of PDF hand record files, either by clicking on a download link in Bridge Solver's browser, or by opening a file on the local machine or local network. The extracted hands can be saved to a PBN file, if required.
See here for a full list of features and a comparison with other versions of Bridge Solver.
